The Right Tools

The one thing I am learning about working on my Mustang is, to get the job done... you need a few things.

  • First, you need patience. LOTS of patience.
  • Second, you need knowledge. Read up on the projects you do, and attack them with a game plan.
  • Third, you need the right tools.

Sometimes those tools fit into a toolbox.  Sometimes not. In my case, the right tools include the help and service of other people.

Against my own stubborn nature, I called a friend for a favor, and loaded the Mustang up onto a trailer. (Thank you Marty Allen!)

We drove the Mustang to Cynthiana KY, where it now sits parked at the home of a body man. I am having the frame fixed (remember the rusting I complained about earlier?) I am having the body fixed (panels cut out, new metal welded into it). I am having it painted (color to be determined.)

I am going to tune it up, paint it up and polish it up. When I say "I", please interpret it as "He". I will be working to get it done, but my work is for AT&T... which will pay me so I can pay him to do it.

If I continue to be stubborn; to try and fix what I don't have the time, tools, or knowledge how to fix... I will only break it, and lose my patience in the process.

This is not an admission of defeat, just a change of tactics. I'll keep posting pictures of the progress.
